The Duxbury Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1986 as an independent corporation to provide quick response in three townships and mutual aid to neighboring fire departments. We respond to house and brush fires and respond to DNR calls for aid, but most of our calls are for medical emergencies. Duxbury Volunteer Fire Department has three companies and stations, in Markville, Cloverton and Duxbury, MN, fully equipped with tankers and pumpers brush rigs and ATVs, and each station has an underground water tank to refill tankers. We serve the Townships of New Dosey (Pop. 74 in 38 households) Arna (Pop. 86 in 43 households) and Wilma (Pop. 137 in 47 households), total population 297 in 128 households, plus first responding in Ogema Township, Pop. 298/103.
